Editing text in Word document is a tedious work. For instance, if we need to delete some Word text, most of us will do it as a hard way – character by character. In fact, there are many editing shortcuts. Some can easily help us fast delete Word text. In this post, I want to share 2 which can transform [Backspace] and [Delete] into deleting machines.
[Ctrl] + [Backspace]
[Backspace] is usually used to delete characters to the left of the insertion point. The limitation is it can only delete one character at a time. This can really slow your work. But if you press [Ctrl] + [Backspace], you will find that you can delete an entire word. This shortcut also deletes text to the left of the insertion point but it deletes one word at a time instead of one character at a time. For example, if you need delete the last 5 words in a paragraph, you can hold down [Ctrl] and press [Backspace] 6 times to do it. (Word counts a punctuation mark as a word.)
[Ctrl] + [Delete]
Press [Delete] can remove the characters to the right of the insertion point. The limitation is the same as pressing [Backspace]. It can only delete one character at a time. In the same, to delete several characters to the right, at once, we can press [Ctrl] + [Delete]. This shortcut deletes all the characters to the right of the insertion point in the current word.
